Lifeguarding: a serious job

Lifeguards are responsible for safety and water lessons (in France)

They ensure that safety rules and procedures are followed.

Ensure the safety of participants, before, during and after their lessons.

What else ?

They are responsible for the instruction and control of activities.

Ensuring that participants are not exposed to any danger or risk.

Lifeguards may also be responsible for monitoring the pools for safety issues and taking appropriate corrective action.

They are obviously trained in first aid and CPR techniques to be prepared for any unforeseen situation.

In addition, they are responsible for communicating information on safety rules and emergency protocols to participants and aquatic staff.

Lifeguarding: a serious job ?

They must remain vigilant to the risks of injury or accidents related to the aquatic course, in partnership with the other professionals involved.

This responsibility implies particular attention before, during and after the session

In addition, it is important that they have good technical and supervisory skills in the aquatic environment.

They should be able to identify warning signs that may indicate a potentially dangerous situation or an increased risk of injury or accident.

Conclusion

Yes indeed, lifeguarding is a serious Job!

Teaching aqua-fitness can be an enjoyable experience, but it is important to keep in mind that lifeguards must remain vigilant and carefully carry out their responsibilities.

Failure to do so may result in legal consequences !

Ensuring the safety of participants is paramount; by taking precautions against risks such as overexertion, slipping or obstructing passages during lessons, a participant’s discomfort should “never” be linked to safety.

So let’s remain vigilant without going to the point of dramatization!
